Warranty

What does Warranty mean ?

According to Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia, that in most commercial and consumer transactions, a warranty is an obligation or guarantee that an article or service sold is as factually stated or legally implied by the seller, and that often provides for a specific remedy such as repair or replacement in the event the article or service fails to meet the warranty. A breach of warranty occurs when the promise is broken, i.e., a product is defective or not as should be expected by a reasonable buyer.

For explanation on the different types of warranty, you might want to visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warranty to learn more about it.

The standard warranty today is still one-year although there are companies offering as much as seven- years for niche product.

Different countries have different laws in dealing with warranties issue so you might want to check out with the proper authorities first before getting into any dispute over warranty matters.

After years of experience, I know I will not re-visit any shops, outlets or services if they do not implement their warranty services properly for any of the products that I have committed through them.

Ultimately, the choice is yours !

In the past, I have encountered unscrupulous business owner who happily announced that the warranty they were providing, for the product that you are purchasing, could be 2 or 3 years but after a few months of operations, the shop was no longer in operation. And, after a period of time, they were spotted elsewhere, operating another shop, with a different company name. Naturally, I do not patronise them anymore but I cannot imagine the number of customers that they have misled to believe that their warranty still valids.
