Mouse

Although you can manipulate your computer program functions using your keyboard keys, you can never compare with the mouse when you have one. Most computer users today are literally "paralyzed" when their mouse call it a day.

Simlarly, the mouse has also come a long way in terms of look and use. In the early 80s, the mouse only has one button for clicking and subsequently they improved it by adding a Left and Right button for clicking of programs or commands. Ultimately, they include a Roller ( Scroll Wheeler ) which was situated in the middle of the mouse so that browsing of long email or documents can be done with ease by sliding the roller to move the pages quickly.

As for the movement of the Mouse, instead of a roller ball below it, it is now replaced with an optical sensor that calculate the movement in order to display the cursor on the screen. Some even use Infrared Technology so that the mouse can do away with the wire that connects between the Motherboard and the Mouse.

There are also many other type of mouse that people created for Gamers who play Games on their computer. Some even have as many as 5 buttons on it.

As for a more technical know-how about the Mouse technologies, you can visit websites that specialise in such topics or wikipedia encyclopedia ( www.wikipedia.org ) for a more detailed explanation on the topic.
